You ask, we answer
The People Counter 2.0™ uses 60GHz Millimeter Wave radar, not a camera. During setup, the customer defines a small detection zone below their door/gate. Whenever a person fully crosses that zone, the radar detects a change in its Millimeter Wave signal pattern and registers either an entry or an exit. The People Counter uses an on-device AI model that continually adapts to its environment to filter out noise (shopping carts, swinging doors, pets, etc.), but it cannot see, recognize, or remember any specific individuals. Instead, it detects the general presence of a person as they cross the detection zone. Because the People Counter does not track individuals, average dwell time is calculated mathematically, using a standard formula called Little’s Law.
Since the People Counter 2.0™ does not use a camera, it cannot capture faces, identity, clothing, or any personal characteristics. It does not track movement within the store or follow the same person over time. Every 60 seconds, our server receives only three pieces of data from the People Counter:
- The number of entries
- The number of exits
- A timestamp tied to the device’s MAC address
The system is fully anonymous by design and does not record any images, videos, biometrics, or personally identifiable information.
Yes, the People Counter 2.0™ uses a standard 120-volt power outlet.
