How a Cirrus LED Display Turned a Memphis Church Into a Neighborhood Gathering Point
St. Stephen Baptist Church has served Memphis, Tennessee since 2006. Led by Pastor Charles Harvey, the church is known for its welcoming atmosphere, active ministries and outreach beyond Sunday services. After nearly two decades, their original sign couldn't keep up: it was static, faded and had no way to display service times, event promotions or outreach messages.
Pastor Harvey looked at several signage vendors and kept hitting the same wall: low-quality hardware, or software too complicated for his team to manage. The church wanted a sign that matched its energy and gave the congregation something to be proud of. St. Stephen needed a sign that was:
"Once the sign was installed, everyone loved it. People driving by stop to look at it. It beautifies the church and helps us reach more people."
Pastor Harvey found Cirrus through an online ad and connected with a Cirrus representative who walked him through the process. He chose Cirrus for its customer support and its commitment to the project. Cirrus handled the display size and resolution, the permitting, and installation with a local sign shop. The church now runs its sign on ScreenHub, Cirrus's sign software, which Pastor Harvey updates himself, even when he's away from the building.
He posts service times, upcoming events and special occasions like Women's Day and the Men's Conference, keeping the sign current without needing anyone on-site.
The sign quickly became a focal point for the congregation and the surrounding neighborhood. Community members stop by to check church updates, and locals drive by just to catch the weather forecast on the display.
