St. Stephen Baptist Church

Find out how St. Stephen Baptist Church grew their community and built meaningful connections.

Key Benefits

  1. Increased Community Engagement and attraction of passersby.
  2. 5G-connected sign—no Wi-Fi required with simple, remote content management.
  3. Beautifying the church facility and giving patrons a sign to be proud of.

Background

Located in the heart of Memphis, Tennessee, St. Stephen Baptist Church has been a pillar of faith and service since 2006. Led by Pastor Charles Harvey, the church is known for its welcoming atmosphere, active ministries, and dedication to reaching people both inside and outside its walls.

After nearly two decades, their original sign had become outdated and static—it couldn’t be updated with service times, event promotions, or outreach messages. The church wanted a sign that would reflect its energy and community spirit, helping passersby stay informed and inspired.

Challenge

The church’s previous signage was no longer serving its mission. It couldn’t display messages or announcements digitally, and its design had faded over time. Pastor Harvey began searching online for modern signage solutions that could meet the needs of a growing congregation.

He explored multiple vendors but found that most offered either low-quality hardware or software that was too complicated to use. On top of that, unreliable Wi-Fi at the church made most systems impractical.

St. Stephen needed:

  • A dependable, easy-to-manage digital sign

  • Remote access capabilities for updating messages

  • A system that could operate on 5G connectivity, not Wi-Fi

  • A turn-key provider that could handle the project from start to finish

Solution

After finding Cirrus through an online ad, Pastor Harvey connected a Cirrus representative, who walked him through the process. Immediately, Pastor Harvey chose Cirrus for our customer support and commitment to his project.

Cirrus provided a complete, turn-key experience—from selecting the right display size and resolution to managing permitting and coordinating installation with a local sign shop. The church chose a 5G-powered digital sign that allows updates to be made from anywhere in the country using Cirrus’s ScreenHub software.

The setup required no Wi-Fi, allowing Pastor Harvey to and his team to update the sign despite it being far from the church building. He easily posts messages about upcoming events, service times, and special celebrations like Women’s Day and the Men’s Conference.

Results

The new sign quickly became a focal point for both the congregation and the surrounding neighborhood. Community members now stop by to check the latest church updates—and locals drive by to get the latest weather forecast.

“Once the sign was installed, everyone loved it,” said Pastor Harvey. “People driving by stop to look at it. It beautifies the church and helps us reach more people.”

Cirrus’s reliable 5G technology, intuitive software, and dedicated support team helped St. Stephen Baptist Church turn its vision into reality—creating a beacon of connection that extends the church’s message beyond Sunday services.
