Honey's Fried Chicken

Learn how one restaurant drew in more customers and revitalized its brand visibility.

Key Benefits

    1. Noticeable increase in customer traffic

    2. Increased visibility from high-traffic roadway

    3. Easy-to-use sign management software

Background

Honey’s Fried Chicken, owned and operated by Malcolm Bedell, has been serving up golden fried chicken for years. Known for its cozy, family atmosphere and “good food done right” philosophy, Honey’s is a gathering place for locals and travelers alike.

Despite its strong reputation, the restaurant faced one major challenge: visibility. Located on a busy highway, thousands of cars passed by each day without noticing the small, static sign out front. It didn’t reflect the energy or warmth inside—and it certainly didn’t help attract new customers.

Malcolm knew he wanted to change that and after hearing a real time traffic analysis from a Cirrus representative, he knew the way to attract a new audience was through an LED display.

Challenge

Malcolm noticed a gap between Honey’s strong online presence and actual in-person traffic. “We’re all over Facebook and Instagram,” he explained, “but we still had people in the neighborhood driving past every day who didn’t even realize we existed.”

The restaurant’s static sign had become invisible—a background object that no longer turned heads. Competing businesses nearby had bright, dynamic displays that grabbed attention immediately.

Malcolm wanted to bridge the gap between digital and physical marketing. He needed a sign that could tell Honey’s story effectively. The requirements were clear:

  • A visually striking sign that could stand out on a busy road
  • Easy-to-use software for updating specials and announcements
  • A reliable system backed by expert support
  • A true partner who could handle the project from start to finish

Solution

When Malcolm discovered Cirrus LED, he was drawn to the company’s reputation for reliability and full-service project management. Cirrus worked directly with Honey’s from the start—selecting the right sign size, helping secure city permits, and coordinating the entire installation process.

The restaurant chose a double-sided LED display, perfectly positioned to reach oncoming traffic from both directions of the highway. The ScreenHub software allowed Malcolm and his team to log in from anywhere and update messages instantly—whether promoting lunch specials, weekend family meals, or community events.

“It’s simple,” Malcolm said. “I can change out messages anytime I want—show new photos, advertise our specials, or even thank our customers. It’s made marketing fun again.”

Cirrus’s 5G-connected technology ensured that updates were always fast and reliable, even in areas with inconsistent Wi-Fi.

Results

After installing their Cirrus digital sign, Honey’s Fried Chicken saw a clear increase in new visitors—especially locals who had driven by for years without ever realizing what was inside.

Malcolm shared that while Honey’s already had strong engagement on social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram, the Cirrus sign reached an entirely new audience—people who weren’t following the restaurant online.

The impact wasn’t just commercial; it was cultural. The sign became part of Honey’s charm—something customers commented on and shared online, bringing digital and physical engagement full circle.

By partnering with Cirrus LED, Honey’s Fried Chicken gained a reliable, flexible marketing tool that seamlessly integrated with its social presence. The restaurant now uses its sign to highlight daily specials, share personality-driven messages, and invite new customers to experience the food and community that make Honey’s special.
