Our support department is here to help you be successful in all of your interactions with our equipment. We’re happy to answer any questions that come up before, during, or after the installation of your Cirrus display. Some of the most common questions we get asked are regarding electrical setup. Here are some of the most common issues that we see/hear about.
Please note: We are not licensed electricians, nor are we familiar with local electrical codes. All electrical work should be performed by someone who holds the appropriate license.
All the specifications of your sign, including power, are on your sales quote. A section at the bottom details how many lines of power are at different voltages (see below). Our components are rated to handle from 90-264 VAC without any hardware changes. Please note: Our units are not rated to handle 3-phase power. Please see the below example for where to find the power requirements on your quote.
Our components are only rated to handle up to 20 amps of power going through them. More than that may work initially but will cause components to be damaged and can eventually fail. Electrical damage is never covered under warranty, so proper installation is vital.
Failure to plug in a cable completely or plugging/unplugging a cable with the power still on are both risky behaviors that often result in problems. You should not be able to pull out the cable without releasing the lock ring and you should never plug or unplug cables with power going to the modules.
Running too many modules on a single circuit will result in damage to components. If you have a sign that requires multiple lines of power, reach out to Cirrus Support for advice on where to place the injectors.
